On October 29, DDMI will host policymakers, industry thought leaders and the press at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, to celebrate the release of its first major academic study, entitled “The Value of Data: Consequences for Insight, Innovation and Efficiency in the U.S. Economy.”  DDMI commissioned this economic impact study by Professors John Deighton of Harvard Business School and Peter Johnson of Columbia University to quantify the economic benefits – from GDP to jobs – realized when consumer data is allowed to fuel responsible data-driven marketing and innovation.

In addition to highlighting key findings from “The Value of Data” study, the event will feature a keynote address by Representative Lee Terry (R-NE), Chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing & Trade; remarks by DMA CEO Linda Woolley; a briefing by study authors John Deighton and Peter Johnson: and a panel discussion on “Balancing Privacy and Innovation” including Jessica Rich, Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission; Stu Ingis, Partner at Venable LLP; Jason Bier, Chief Privacy Officer at ValueClick; and Pam Dixon, Executive Director of the World Privacy Forum.
